Full Metal Jacket: clothes from the future

In every industry, there are people quietly building what comes next. Technology, architecture, food, automotive, even space travel—progress doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because someone decides to challenge what’s always been done. In apparel, that future-forward mindset belongs to Vollebak.

Founded by twin brothers Nick and Steve Tidball—designers, athletes, and relentless experimenters—Vollebak uses science and advanced materials to create clothing that feels like it belongs in tomorrow, not yesterday. Their work doesn’t follow trends; it tests boundaries.

Take their copper jacket. There’s a reason this is one of the first jackets built largely from metal—and also why it took so long to exist. Metal is engineered to be strong, not flexible. Copper, however, is different. Its atoms are arranged in a face-centred cubic crystal structure, making it both incredibly strong and uniquely malleable. That atomic advantage allows Vollebak to engineer a three-layer system: a soft inner lining, a high-performance waterproof membrane that opens and closes in response to heat, and an outer shell woven from lacquered copper yarn. It’s science, design, and function working in perfect sync.

So at this price point, what are we really talking about? Inspiration, for one. And perspective, for another. Vollebak isn’t just selling a jacket—they’re demonstrating what’s possible when you stop accepting limitations and start exploring new technologies.

For us, this is a reminder to think beyond the traditional boundaries of promo. Look outside our industry. Borrow ideas from breakthroughs happening elsewhere. Apply that same future-thinking mindset to create promotional experiences that surprise, perform, and endure.

This is about daring to dream. About being the team that doesn’t just follow the market—but helps build what comes next.
